CLASS DESCRIPTION: Design is a powerful tool that creates meaningful dialogue between the work and its intended audience. This exchange can profoundly impact our culture and society. This course explores the methods used by designers to create visual messages that inspire ideas, elicit emotions, and encourage actions. Through class discussion and course readings we examine the role and responsibility of the designer within our society. Students create work that integrates their individual perspective and personal experiences supported by research, writing and design applications.
